The Welsh government are promoting food hygiene ratings for takeaways, encouraging customers ordering takeaway food over the phone to ask for the takeaway’s food hygiene rating. Their proposed new rules would also force takeaways to provide ratings details on to printed takeaway leaflets and menus.
Wales became first in the UK in November 2013 to require that all food outlets display food hygiene ratings on their doors or windows, and say the ratings are actively helping to improve standards.
