£1.4m dairy unit begins production - South Wales Evening Post
WHITLAND'S new £1.4 million dairy unit is now up and running sweeping away "decades of neglect".
Back in June, ambitious plans were submitted to Carmarthenshire Council by the Proper Welsh Milk Company to site a unit at the town's former dairy site.
A spokesman for the company described the opening as a renewal of the town's association with the dairy industry. The Spring Gardens creamery had closed in the mid-1990s.
The application for the dairy unit — which has been empty since 2009 — was approved by planners earlier this year.
