The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have said a batch of turkey butterflies processed by Severnside Provisions in Newport, and supplied to butchers in some parts of England and Wales should not be eaten.
The FSA have said the product was processed in conditions that didn’t meet hygiene standards.
A Food Standards Agency spokesperson said: “It is suspected that 12 tonnes of turkey butterflies, processed by Severnside Provisions Ltd at premises in Newport, south Wales, were supplied to independent butchers and catering outlets throughout south and mid Wales, south west and south-central England.”
